1983 – 1984
It's not that Cold
by William KonyaAs a graduate student with a teaching assistantship, my first experience in teaching a class was at RPI. A memorable incident occurred during my first semester (Fall 1983). My 8am Calculus students knew that I hailed from Southern California. The semester started off with a serious heat wave, but on a later date I woke up and felt it was cold enough to wear my down jacket. So, when I entered the classroom, they seemingly all laughed at me and shouted things like, "California Boy" and "It's not that cold"! I miss those times!
