Spirit Day

February 9, 2024

RPI Spirit Day is an annual virtual event that invites all members of the Rensselaer community to show off their school pride by taking a picture and sharing it online.

Wear or display your RPI gear wherever you may find yourself and show everyone your pride in your affiliation with Rensselaer. Don’t forget to take a picture (safely!) and post it to social media with #RPISpiritDay2024. (Tweets and Facebook accounts with privacy settings won't show up on hashtag feeds, so remember to change your settings for the day, or submit it online through our folder.)

Have fun, be creative, be safe, and be as spirited as you like! Use creative props, include your kids and pets, paint your face, find an unusual locale. Show your support for our amazing current students, and give a shout out to your former (or favorite!) team, organization, or club. Or, simply wear red. Do whatever you can to tell the world that you are a proud member of the Rensselaer community. (You may also show your support for our student-athletes with a gift to Let's Go Red!)

As photos come in throughout the day, they will be shared on the following:

Rensselaer Alumni Facebook
Rensselaer Alumni Instagram
Rensselaer Alumni Twitter

Rensselaer has global reach and impact, and so can you! Show your pride virtually by changing your profile pic or your avatar to an RPI-related image – we have several in the column at the right to choose from, or create your own.

You never know who you might see in your region or at your corporation who is an RPI alumnus/a as well! Tout your connection to the ‘Tute on RPI Spirit Day!

Big Red Freakout!

February 10, 2024

Join other Rensselaer hockey fans at the Big Red Freakout! Ice House, one of college hockey’s most exciting annual traditions.

The Ice House gathers alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of Rensselaer hockey together at the Heffner Alumni House to enjoy a bountiful buffet dinner. Come get your game face on with face painting and “tattoos” courtesy of the Red & White Student Organization, and a Pep Band performance. The free shuttle will take you from the Heffner Alumni House to the Houston Field House for the big game at 7:00 p.m. against Colgate University.

After the game, take the shuttle back to the Heffner Alumni House to meet the men’s hockey team and the coaches. Get an autograph and meet your favorite players while you enjoy complimentary drinks, desserts, and snacks.

Dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. and transportation will be available from the Heffner Alumni House to the Houston Field House, and then returning upon game completion.

Please note that registration for Ice House does NOT include hockey tickets.
You will need to purchase your game tickets separately from the Rensselaer Box Office.

Please also note that advance dinner reservations are required, and no refunds will be given after Tuesday, January 12, 2024. If you have any questions, contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at alumni@rpi.edu or (518) 276-6205.
